Japan Motorcycle Export Data for January 2012

Number of Motorcycles Exported
Motorcycle export in January 2012 was recorded as 45,649 units. Compared with the 43,664 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 1,985 units or 4.5%, and export increase on the same month of the previous year for five consecutive months.

50cc or under class 1,878 units, up 870 units or 86.3%
51 - 125cc class 1,772 units, down 1,595 units or 47.4%
126 - 250cc class 6,259 units, up 1,059 units or 20.4%
Over 250cc class 35,740 units, up 1,651 units or 4.8%

Value of Motorcycles Exported
Total value of motorcycles exported for January 2012 was $416.702 million including $305.105 million for vehicles and $111.597 million for parts. This is decrease of $7.691 million or 1.8% as compared with $424.393 million recorded for the same month of the previous year.
